Permian Basin Paint Horse Club is an APHA regional club that was founded by Mike Whittemore in 1983. PBPHC primarily encompasses the geographical area covering the Permian Basin region in west-central Texas. PBPHC’s home base for our events is at the Taylor County Expo Center, located in Abilene, TX. In addition to our events in Abilene, we are also sponsoring/co-sponsoring events in San Angelo and Waco, TX.
Permian Basin Paint Horse Club’s primary goal is to strongly promote the American Paint Horse Breed, as well as
all breeds of horses. To do so, we provide fun-filled quality events for families and individuals in a safe and
sportsman-like atmosphere. Over the last several years, PBPHC has been and continues to be the leading APHA regional club that’s spearheaded the way for promoting and getting Ranch horse classes incorporated into the APHA/All-Breed Regional Club venues.

Beginning in 2017, PBHC has a new vision about the future of horse showing general. In addition to our primary goal of promoting the Paint Horse Breed, we want to continue to promote All-Breed horses. PBPHC believes that the ultimate future of the Breed and All-Breed/Pinto Horse Associations/Clubs, resides within our Youth. PBPHC’s
goal is to team up with as many local 4-H and other clubs where we can to encourage Youth to participate in Equine activities.

We would love to have you come and show with us!!!
